 Operation Christmas Child
The story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37) gives a clear picture of God’s desire for us to help those in desperate need wherever we find them. After describing how the Samaritan rescued a hurting man whom others had passed by, Jesus told His hearers, “Go and do likewise.” For over 40 years, Samaritan’s Purse has done our utmost to follow Christ’s command by going to the aid of the world’s poor, sick, and suffering. We are an effective means of reaching hurting people in countries around the world with food, medicine, and other assistance in the Name of Jesus Christ. Since its beginning Operation Christmas Child has distributed over one million boxes to over 100 countries around the world.  We have the opportunity to help children to know that they are loved and cared for. Please fill a shoebox for a boy or a girl with special gifts chosen specifically for them, please feel free to include a letter and a picture of yourself. Please return your box to the church by November 4 . Contact Julie Sullivan if you have any questions.

Faith Lutheran Church Proposed Constitutional Revisions
Approximately every three years the ELCA approves amendments to the Model Constitution for Congregations.  These amendments range from very minor grammatical choices to more significant items reflecting our current context and needs.  Some of these amendments are required and some are recommended.  The congregations of the ELCA are expected to review these changes following the release of the most recent Model Constitution, and to amend their own constitutions accordingly. This year your congregation council has been undertaking this work and we would like to invite any of our members interested in learning more about specific proposed changes –and the overall process—to gather following the Stewardship Luncheon to learn more. We will be submitting the recommendations of the council for approval at the November Pre-Annual Meeting, and then the congregation will be asked to ratify those amendments at our Annual Meeting in February.
